So I installed the B & M short shift kit recently but I honestly couldn't stand to look at the shift knob. Before I even had the kit in my car, I started to look at alternate shift knobs. Rumor has it that certain big name knobs will work, but I wanted something unique. After all, you're only grabbing this thing constantly whenever you drive your car!

I decided to approach this company that my buddy was telling me about who has a line of handmade aluminum shift knobs for the Audi TT and asked the owner about VW fitment. He got back to me very quickly and we chatted a bit via e-mail about trying out one of his "made for B&M kit" shift knobs on my car. We weren't sure if the knob would fit the B&M kit for VW since it was designed for the TT so we did a test fitment and here are the results!

You can tell that great passion and care went into the making of this knob, as the quality and fit it much better than any aftermarket knob that I've ever used. It has a soft, satin-like finish that makes the B&M knob's finish look and feel like a trailer hitch!

It screws onto the B&M shifter beautifully and makes every shift feel even more tight and precise as it does with the B&M knob. Heck, it even matches my watch and Turbo-S door pins!! (and Forge aluminum rear license plate frame [not pictured] )

So if you're running the B&M and seek a great alternative, check out autoaesthetics.com.

Raffi the owner was great to deal with and he's also an enthusiast since he drives an Audi TT himself! I'm all about supporting the small companies who are genuinely dedicated to the scene and I'm really glad I chose to go this route.

You'll find a few styles of the B&M knobs on his site as well as custom TT knobs and jewelry. This particular model is the "Force" knob and as you can tell I am extremely excited about it! Those of you that know me know that I'm not the type to do reviews and write-ups, but I really couldn't help myself on this one!
