Raffi,
The ring plate I just received demonstrates true craftsmanship.
The care you took and attention to detail is evident in the quality of this fine work of art . The proportion of the letters to the enamel border sets them off precisely and balances the silver to red so well. I could hardly wait to see it in the car, fortunately the installation was a breeze.
I removed the torx head screw at six o'clock on the shift ring, because I pull this ring off quite frequently. This will allow the ring to be removed once the badge is in place. I peeled the backing off the double sided tape, inserted the boss on the backside into the screw hole c'bore and pressed the badge to the ring. I was impressed with this aspect of the design as it locks the badge into place on the ring yet there is no visible means of attachment. The fitup to the curvature radius on the ring is perfect as is the radial match of the inner and outer arcs. The eight dimples around the edge compliment the theme so prevalent in the TT interior. It is difficult to express in words how pleased I am with this latest addition to the TT.
I must admit that it was very hard to concentrate on the road during the first drive I took with the badge in place. I kept looking down at it and admiring how well it fit the red black scheme of my interior. Thank-you Raffi for this beautiful addition to my TT.
I Really want others to appreciate what beautiful workmanship these badges are. I forgot to mention the comment my wife made when she saw the badge yesterday. She had seen the workup you created with P-shop on the forum ( I have them floating around as part of a screen saver on our home system). So her comment, on seeing it for real was "Oh that is so much more beautiful than the photo".
Usually when I've installed a "mod" to the car I have to ask "Notice anything different about the car?" not this time.
Hopefully as other TT'rs see this at GTG's you will see an increase in interest. Have you made one for yourself yet? You should! Just so people can see the real thing.
Thanks again Raffi. Have a great day!
